Summer is Here!!!

Our summer is officially off to a GREAT start!

The first part of camp’s summer is always our Summer Staff Training, where this year, we had the responsibility of training a total of 117 high school and college students for summer ministry! What an intense but enjoyable 2 weeks as we sought to prepare these fantastic young people for what lies ahead!

During these 2 weeks of training, we have the great privilege of hosting Camp of Champs. For the past 30 years, we have appreciated our partnership with this wonderful wrestling ministry, operated by Olympic gold medalists Ben and John Peterson. We were encouraged to get this report from their time with us… “Thank you for a very good week of camps. 5 young men were helped to trust Christ as Savior. We thank God for His continued grace.” We are so grateful for this ministry partnership.

Today is a huge day for camp…

We welcome 224 Junior Campers to camp! Because of a housing shift for our women summer staff this year, we have more room for youth campers… making this the biggest week of Junior Camp EVER at Camp Forest Springs!
Tomorrow we will also welcome 59 First Adventure campers to camp… our biggest day camp ever.
This will also be one of our largest adventure trip weeks of the summer… with more than 80 young people here for wilderness trips of various kinds, including the first Rawhide trip of the summer.
IF that wasn’t exciting enough, we also have a volunteer work team from Omaha, Nebraska here this week!
