Wintertainment 2011

A fabulous week of Wintertainment ended our 2011 year of ministry!

Not only did we have great weather and a wonderful group of college staff to help us host this year’s event, we also set a new attendance record by hosting 235 teens, with an additional 18 youth pastors and sponsors, for a grand total of 253 guests.  And that number doesn’t include our 70 college staff and roughly 100 year-round staff and families.  Needless to say, our auditorium was packed and overflowing!

Coffee House Performance

The normal program events that our teens have come to love were back again, including Razzleblast, the Big Air competition, the slalom ski race, a caplight snowshoe campfire, our Coffee House, and the ever-favorite ANIMAL BALL.  This year, new favorites were added… Night Dodgeball and a Biathlon, using our paintball guns! :-)

Ski Jumper

Of course, much of our Wintertainment ministry centers around the Bible sessions where this year, we introduced Dave Creek as a new speaker to camp. Dave is the Student Ministries pastor at The Mills Church in Minnetonka and did a terrific job of communicating God’s truth and connecting with the teens!  Matt Hoffland once again led our teens and staff in worship!  What an amazing week!  God did a great work in the lives of many of the teens, as they talked about the love of Christ and the changes they need to make as they head home.
