a 160 mile bike ride and fundraiser
Join us for the 14th annual Tour de Forest! This exquisite 160-mile weekend road-bike ride and fundraiser, will be held September 17-19, 2027. We'll ride through the spectacular fall colors in northwestern Wisconsin - from Oak Forest in Frederic, WI, to Forest Springs in Westboro, WI.
The riding pace is whatever you want it to be as we do the ride in 10-to-20-mile sections, ensuring everyone is (reasonably) comfortable and always knows where the route goes. Our chase vehicle is always nearby with lots of food and beverages and bike tools.

2026 TOUR REPORT
This year: 13 YEARS, 160 MILES, AND A WHOLE LOT OF CAMARADERIE!
This past weekend, 14 riders took on 160 miles across beautiful western Wisconsin for the 13th annual Tour de Forest, riding from Oak Forest Center in Frederick to Forest Springs in Westboro!
And this year, Wisconsin gave us a challenge. Cool temperatures, relentless headwinds, and gusts reaching 30 mph made some stretches feel like we were riding with our brakes dragging. There were definitely moments when we wondered, “Why did we sign up for this again?”
But that’s one of the best things about the Tour: we ride together. We encourage each other, tackle each segment one at a time, and keep moving forward. The miles add up—and so did the laughter, memories, encouragement, and camaraderie. This year’s riders came from Texas, New Jersey, Iowa, and Wisconsin, and we can’t say enough about the fellowship. Different states, different backgrounds, one incredible weekend together.
And the scenery? Absolutely magnificent. Rural Wisconsin showed off with miles of beautiful countryside, forests, fields, and views that reminded us why we love riding here.
A HUGE thank-you to the Forest Springs staff who make this event possible: Tim Petersen, Brittnae Maris, Ben Brubaker, and Reanna Baumgarten. And special thanks to Ben and Reanna, who didn’t just support us—they rode most of the miles with us!
And then there’s the reason behind the ride.
The Tour is first and foremost a cycling adventure, but it also raises funds for ministry at Forest Springs. This year, our goal was to raise at least $10,000 toward new canoes for Adventure Ministries—and we reached our minimum goal! We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who prayed, rode, encouraged, and gave to make that possible. Thank you for helping make the Tour de Forest something truly special.
But we’re not done yet! If you’d like to help us put more canoes on the water and support Adventure Ministries' ministry, you can still give. Every gift helps turn miles on the road into ministry opportunities on the water.

LEARN MORE ABOUT THE RIDE
- A good road bike and being in good riding shape are required.
Saturday - Hwy W east to Hwy E, then south on E about 4 miles, then east and south on 260th and other back roads (paved) to H down to Cumberland, then east on B to SS to Rice Lake, then skirt around the north end of town to M, south on M to Chetek, then east on D to Plummer Rd 3 miles to Arrowhead Bible Camp.
Sunday - Back up that road to D, then east on D to Hwy 27, continue east on D/old 194 to Sheldon and Jump River, and all the way to Westboro and Forest Springs.
The first half-day has rolling terrain, then most of the route is pretty flat until the final 12 miles or so.
Friday - Arrive at Forest Springs Camp & Conference Center by 1 p.m. Park your car and prepare for a van ride to Oak Forest Center. Friday supper is at Oak Forest Retreat & Conference Center (included in the price). Housing Friday night will be in lodge rooms at Oak Forest.
Saturday - Breakfast at Oak Forest Retreat & Conference Center at 7 a.m. The ride begins at 8 a.m. Saturday's ride stops in beautiful Cumberland and Rice Lake - ending at an LTD graduate's camp (Arrowhead Bible Camp) for the night. Lodging at Arrowhead is cabin-style. Saturday's ride is about 85 miles.
Sunday -Breakfast as a group at Arrowhead Bible Camp, riding by 9 a.m. This stage of the ride is about 75 miles and takes us through some of Wisconsin's most beautiful countryside, including the Chequamegon National Forest. We typically ride into Forest Springs by about 2:30 pm on Sunday.
For the 2026 ride, the Tour is aiming again to raise funds to provide new canoes for Adventure Ministries.
- Participant cost is $200.
- Plan to have at least two sponsors who would sponsor you at a suggested $1 per mile or a donation of $158. More details will follow after registration.
- Riders are more than welcome to ride and not be a part of the fundraising aspect. However, we encourage you to consider becoming a donor and invite others to join or sponsor you. Give here.
- The proceeds will go to supporting Adventure Ministries and providing new canoes for future campers!
