Hunter Safety Weekend
Forest Springs September 11-13, 2026
This weekend program includes 10+ hours of classroom and hands-on education for ages 10+*.
Successful participants will receive their Wisconsin DNR hunter education certification.
COST:
Registration Fees (facility use and four meals included):
- Onsite – $133 per person
- Offsite – $61 per person
DNR Certification Fee – $10 per student
Deposit: $25/person – Your balance is due before arrival.
*Any child under 18 must be accompanied by a registered adult and they must attend all sessions together.

PROGRAM PARAMETERS

- Anyone 17 years of age and under must be accompanied by a registered adult.

SAMPLE SCHEDULE (subject to change)
Friday
- Registration – 5:30-6:30 p.m.
- First class – 7:00-10:00 p.m.
Saturday
- Breakfast, class starts at 8:30 a.m.
- Lunch, class & field practice
- Dinner, class ends at 9:00 p.m.
Sunday
- Continental breakfast, class & review starts at 8:30 a.m.
- Brunch
- Study, review & testing**
- Departure by 3:00 p.m.
ACCOMMODATIONS
- Onsite: Standard Cabin (dorm style)
- Group unit with bunk beds, private bath
- Towels/bedding not provided

**This DNR certification test consists of a field exam and a paper exam and is proctored by certified DRN Hunter Safety instructors. These exams are not timed. The field exam involves a hands on demonstration of proper handling and understanding of a firearm and safe hunting procedures. The written exam is closed book (no notes or phones allowed) and is 40 multiple choice questions. For students who need reading accommodations, instructors can read the questions out loud.
