Each camp can provide you with an opportunity to hit the "pause button" on life. Our mission-minded staff works to provide families of all ages with a safe, positive, no-pressure environment that allows you to focus on reconnecting, creating memories, and growing in God's Word. Summer family camps at Forest Springs are a much-needed retreat for hundreds of families around the country each year.

Memorial Day Weekend Family Camp

May 24 - 27, 2024

Guest Speaker: John Holmes | Dr. John Holmes graduated from Grace University in 1986 (B.A.), Dallas Theological Seminary in 1992 (Th.M.), and from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2002 (Ph.D.). While at Grace, he served in a number of administrative roles and taught Bible classes. He enjoys a ministry of teaching God’s Word and speaking on issues of biblical manhood, womanhood, and marriage. John serves as lead pastor of Grace Life Bible Church, Omaha, NE.

Guest Speaker: Jerry Marshall | Pastor Marshall is a graduate of the Moody Bible Institute, Trinity College, and has attended Trinity Seminary in Deerfield, IL. Jerry’s passion for assisting people to comprehend and apply God’s Word through the vehicle of expository teaching is best articulated in Nehemiah 8:8. He has over three decades of ministry experience.

Guest Speaker: Brooks Simpson | Brooks Simpson came to faith in Christ in 1988 while wrestling for the University of Iowa and attending Grace Community Church in North Liberty, Iowa. He joined the staff at Grace Community Church in 1998 and serves as Lead Pastor. Brooks’ desire is to see Christ magnified and exalted in the lives of people. He would love for people to see that Christ and His gospel are on every page of the Bible, and to understand the gospel as the power to transform life here and now, not only as a “ticket to heaven.”

July 28, 2024 - August 3, 2024

Guest Speaker: Norm Hubbard | Norm has served on staff with the Navigators collegiate ministries for the past 20 years on five campuses in the Midwest. He currently works with students in Minneapolis, oversees staff in Wisconsin, and speaks at conferences nationally. Norm has a Master’s Degree in Applied Linguistics and is currently working on a Master’s of Divinity. He’s the author of three Bible study workbooks and 3,000 exaggerated stories.

August 4 - 10, 2024

Guest Speaker: Frank Cirone | Frank had the privilege of traveling with Major Ian Thomas after high school and then attending Capernwray Hall in England and Holsby in Sweden. Frank graduated from Philadelphia Biblical University with a BS in Biblical Education prior to joining the staff at Ravencrest Chalet. He holds a Master’s Degree in Christian Leadership from Denver Seminary. Frank enjoys traveling and speaking at various events in the United States and overseas.

August 11 - 17, 2024

Guest Speaker: Dave Barber | Pastor Dave is a graduate of Taylor University and has a Master’s degree from Trinity Evangelical Divinity Seminary. Dave was a youth pastor for several years before becoming a senior pastor. He served 25 of those ministry years in Barrington, Illinois. He and his wife, Bonnie, worked at a pioneer church planting in Lexington, Kentucky before coming to River Valley Church in 2014. Dave loves sharing God’s Word with anyone.

Labor Day Weekend Family Camp

August 30, 2024 - September 2, 2024

Guest Speaker: Bryan Marvel | Bryan has been speaking and writing since 2010. He has published articles in various magazines and online publications. He wrote and self-published a nine-week devotional called A Journey to the Cross. He’s spoken at camps, retreats, and conferences in different parts of the country, all while serving as a pastor of a local church. Currently, he serves as the Lead Pastor of Meadowbrook Church, where he has been since 2016.
